Telangana Government to Recruit Computer Teachers in Govt Schools with ₹15,000 Monthly Salary

The Telangana Government has taken a major step toward strengthening digital education in government schools by approving the recruitment of ICT Instructors (Computer Teachers) after nearly two decades. The initiative aims to make computer education accessible to students in schools that already have computer labs. Officials have identified 2,837 schools across the state that have five or more computers, and ICT instructors will be appointed in these institutions under the outsourcing system through Telangana Technology Services (TSTS).

Selected instructors will receive a monthly honorarium of ₹15,000, paid for ten months, funded through the Samagra Shiksha scheme. Earlier, during the united Andhra Pradesh era, computer instructors were appointed in over 4,200 schools, but the program was discontinued later, rendering computer labs unused. With the new recruitment, instructors will not only maintain the labs but also ensure students receive proper digital education.

These appointments are also expected to support ongoing digital learning initiatives in government schools, such as the Assisted Language and Maths Learning Program implemented in 1,354 schools with the help of the EkStep Foundation, and the newly introduced Khan Academy online classes. Education officials believe that with the addition of dedicated ICT instructors, computer labs will be revived and digital learning will gain strong momentum across Telangana government schools.
