Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed the entire state administration to stay alert due to the ongoing heavy rainfall across the state. On Monday, he held a video conference with all district Collectors and asked them to take necessary steps to avoid problems like floods and road blockages.
The CM told officials to stay available 24/7 during July and August. He asked them to take weather updates from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and inform local people, farmers, and village authorities at least three hours in advance. Though the state had 21% less rainfall since June, the recent showers are expected to bring relief.
He also reviewed the supply of urea and fertilizers to farmers, Hyderabad's traffic issues, healthcare teams for seasonal fevers, and new ration card distribution. Revanth Reddy asked departments to work together to solve traffic problems in rain-hit areas. He was informed that GHMC, police, NDRF, and other teams are already deployed for rescue operations.
The Chief Minister instructed district Collectors to supervise ground-level work, conduct surprise checks in hospitals, and stay in touch with senior officers. He ordered coordination from the Command Control Room based on IMD alerts. CM also announced ₹1 crore emergency fund per district and warned strict action if officials fail in their duties during this emergency.
