Rivers Flowing Above Danger Mark in 8 States as Heavy Rain Hits Hilly Areas

Heavy rains in India are causing many rivers to rise above danger levels. Rivers in states like Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal are now a threat to nearby towns and villages. In Uttarakhand, rivers like Alaknanda and Mandakini are dangerously full.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of more rain in areas such as Dehradun, Rudraprayag, and Chamoli. Due to this, there is a risk of floods and landslides, especially in hilly areas like Himachal Pradesh. Water levels in the Ganga River are very high in Patna and Bhagalpur.

The flood situation is also serious in Assam and Uttar Pradesh. In many places like Varanasi and Prayagraj, rivers are flowing much above the danger mark. People living in low-lying areas have been asked to stay alert. The government is monitoring the situation and taking steps to ensure safety.
