The cold is more severe in agency and forest regions, where residents are facing harsh weather conditions. Doctors have advised children and the elderly to take special precautions.

Around this time last year, the state recorded a minimum temperature of 12.1°C. This year, the drop has been noticeably sharper, officials said.

The Meteorological Department has forecast that the cold wave conditions will continue for the next three days. Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 8.6°C and 13.5°C across the districts. In view of this, a Yellow Alert has been issued for the entire state.
