Works Begin on 74 Development Projects in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh

Work has officially started on 74 new development projects in the greenfield capital of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati. The projects are worth over ₹50,552 crore, while tenders have been issued for even more works, taking the total planned investment to ₹81,317 crore.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the progress of capital construction with officials from the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) and the Amaravati Development Corporation (EDC). The review covered land allocation to agencies, infrastructure development, and construction of residences for ministers, MLAs, officials, and judges, as well as roads, drainage, utilities, and flood-control systems. CM Naidu directed that the works should be completed six months ahead of schedule without compromising quality.

The Chief Minister also stressed that Amaravati should become the world’s most liveable city by promoting economic activity, creating jobs, and attracting investment. He called for a strong knowledge economy, encouraged the entry of India’s top real estate firms, and promoted green energy through EV adoption. He instructed that development progress be monitored in real-time, monthly reviews be held, and air quality be tracked across the capital region.
