Iconic Krishna River Bridge – Public to Decide the Final Design
The Andhra Pradesh government is preparing to build an iconic bridge across the Krishna River, which will stand as a crown jewel for the capital Amaravati. What makes this prestigious project unique is that the final design will be chosen by the public.
Bridge Highlights
- Route: From Rayapudi (Amaravati) to Mulapadu (NTR District)
- Length: Around 5 km
- Type: Cable-stayed bridge
- Connectivity: Direct link between Amaravati and the Vijayawada–Hyderabad National Highway
Once completed, the bridge will not only improve transportation but also give a big boost to the capital region’s development.
Designs Inspired by Telugu Culture
The CRDA has shortlisted four unique designs for public voting:
- Three models inspired by different Kuchipudi dance postures
- One model shaped like the letter “A” symbolizing Amaravati
These designs aim to combine modern engineering with Telugu cultural identity, while also serving as a future tourism attraction.
