Massive Relief for Amaravati Farmers: Land Pattas Issued
The Andhra Pradesh government has announced good news for farmers who contributed their assigned lands under the Amaravati Capital Land Pooling Scheme. To resolve longstanding issues, the government issued official orders on Wednesday removing the term ‘Assigned’ from the ownership certificates of returnable plots and recognizing these plots as full-fledged ‘Patta Lands’.
Longstanding Farmers’ Concerns
Previously, the ownership certificates of plots allotted under land pooling contained the stamp ‘Assigned’. This created difficulties for farmers in selling or transacting their plots. Many farmers faced distress as they could only sell their lands at lower prices due to the restricted market value.
Government Action Following CM’s Orders
Observing the hardships faced by the farmers, CRDA Commissioner Kannababu brought the matter to the attention of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Responding positively, the CM directed officials to remove ‘Assigned’ from ownership documents and replace it with ‘Patta Land’.
Following these directions, Municipal Administration Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar issued G.O MS No. 187, amending Rule 11(4) of the Land Pooling Act. This decision has provided significant relief to Amaravati farmers, granting full legal recognition to their plots.
