PM Modi Receives Ghana’s Highest Honour – Dedicates It to 1.4 Billion Indians

During his official visit to Ghana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honoured with the country's highest civilian award – "Officer of the Order of the Star of Ghana". The award was personally presented by Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama in the capital city of Accra. This award recognizes Modi's global leadership and his efforts to strengthen ties between India and Ghana.

PM Modi expressed gratitude and dedicated the award to 1.4 billion Indians. He said the honour represents the hopes of India’s youth, the country’s cultural richness, and the strong historical bond between India and Ghana. He also thanked the Ghanaian people and government for the warm gesture and called it a symbol of deep friendship between the two nations.

This is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ghana in over three decades. The trip marked a major diplomatic moment, as both countries agreed to elevate their relationship to a “Comprehensive Partnership”. Modi said his visit would bring new momentum to India-Ghana relations and promote greater cooperation in the years ahead.
