PM Modi to Inaugurate SEMICON India 2025 in New Delhi Today
New Delhi, September 2, 2025:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate SEMICON India 2025 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, today. The three-day global conference (September 2–4) is focused on strengthening India’s semiconductor ecosystem and boosting innovation, manufacturing, and investments.
The event will feature:
- Over 350 exhibitors from 33 countries
- 15,000+ visitors and industry leaders
- 6 country roundtables & 4 country pavilions
- Participation from 9 Indian states
Key sessions will cover semiconductor fabs, advanced packaging projects, R&D innovations, AI, smart manufacturing, infrastructure readiness, and investment opportunities.
Organized by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) under the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) along with SEMI (global semiconductor association), this year’s edition is South Asia’s largest platform for the semiconductor and electronics industry.
Since the launch of ISM in 2021, India has rapidly moved from vision to reality in chip manufacturing. The government’s ₹76,000 crore PLI scheme has already seen commitments worth nearly ₹65,000 crore.
This year’s theme, “Building the Next Semiconductor Powerhouse,” reflects India’s growing global role. The summit will also highlight 10 approved strategic projects, including high-volume fabs, compound semiconductors, OSATs, and government-backed research for start-ups.
Past editions of SEMICON India were hosted in Bengaluru (2022), Gandhinagar (2023), and Greater Noida (2024).
