New Delhi, Sep 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on Saturday to launch a series of transformative development projects across multiple sectors at a high-profile event at Jawahar Maidan, Bhavnagar. As part of the 'Samudra se Samriddhi' programme, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 34,200 crore, with a major focus on the maritime sector, including initiatives exceeding Rs 7,870 crore. Highlights include the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock, a new container terminal at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, and upgrades at Paradip, Tuna Tekra, Kamarajar, Chennai, Car Nicobar, and Deendayal ports, along with inland waterway facilities at Patna and Varanasi. In Gujarat alone, PM Modi will inaugurate projects worth Rs 26,354 crore in renewable energy, port infrastructure, roadways, healthcare, and urban transport, such as the HPLNG Regasification Terminal, Gujarat IOCL Refinery projects, Green Shoe 600 MW, PM-KUSUM 475 MW solar feeder, Badeli 45 MW Solar PV Project, and solarisation of Dhordo village. Healthcare expansions at Sir T. General Hospital, Bhavnagar and Guru Govind Sinh Hospital, Jamnagar, along with four-laning of 70 km of national highways, will also be launched. Several MoUs will be signed to strengthen public-private partnerships, and the Prime Minister will undertake an aerial survey of Dholera Special Investment Region, envisioned as a greenfield industrial city with sustainable and smart infrastructure.
