Kananaskis (Canada), June 18:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Canada. Modi said he was happy to interact with his “friend” Macron and spoke about India–France friendship on social media.

On his official X (Twitter) handle, PM Modi wrote: “It’s always a delight to meet my friend, President Emmanuel Macron, and discuss global matters. India and France will continue to work together for a better planet.”

PM Modi held a detailed meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and talked about defence, technology, and anti-terror efforts.

He congratulated Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum on her historic election win and discussed future collaboration in areas like semiconductors and agriculture.
