Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh on August 25 to perform the bhoomi-pujan (foundation stone ceremony) of the country’s first PM MITRA Park. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said this milestone has been made possible through continuous coordination with the Central government, making the state the first in India to reach this stage.
The PM MITRA Park will be built over 2,158 acres with an investment of more than ₹2,000 crore. It will feature state-of-the-art facilities for textile manufacturing, processing, and exports. Developed as a greenfield project, the park will have modern infrastructure like water supply, waste management, stormwater drainage, power substations, street lighting, and SCADA-controlled utilities. Once completed, it is expected to create around 3 lakh direct and indirect jobs, boosting economic growth in the Malwa region.
Dhar is set to become the second-largest industrial hub in Madhya Pradesh after Pithampur. The project will also make Badnawar tehsil a part of the Indore Metropolitan City Area, giving it access to urban amenities. The government plans to ensure smooth event arrangements, with proper seating, logistics, and alternate routes for easy access on the day of the ceremony.
