Chandrababu: Amaravati Will Be a Key Revenue Hub for Andhra Pradesh

Chandrababu Naidu Compares Amaravati Criticism to Cyberabad Allegations, Says No Govt Funds Used

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said that the criticism surrounding the Amaravati capital project is similar to the allegations he faced during the development of Cyberabad when he was the Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh. He said that some political rivals are targeting the project out of jealousy, thinking he will gain personal credit even though no government money is being spent.

Speaking in an interview with a national news outlet in New Delhi, Chandrababu shared his views on the future of Amaravati and spoke about his son Nara Lokesh’s political journey.

Recalling the past, he said, “Congress leaders once accused me of spending all state funds on Cyberabad. But I developed resources for the state without using public money. Today, Hyderabad brings in 75% of Telangana’s revenue because of those efforts.”

He stated that the Amaravati model is similar, with no government funds being used. He explained that 33,000 acres of land were given voluntarily by farmers, and that the government is working to develop Amaravati with farmers as partners so they can benefit financially.

“Some leaders can’t digest that farmers willingly gave up their land. That’s why they are spreading negativity,” he said. He also expressed full confidence that Amaravati will become a key source of income for Andhra Pradesh.

He added, “If something gets into my mind, I will not rest until I make it happen,” highlighting his strong determination.

Chandrababu said critics are not attacking the quality of projects, but are only worried that he will earn recognition for successful development.

Speaking about his son Nara Lokesh, he said, “Lokesh completed his higher education from Stanford University and chose public service. He’s working hard to prove himself in politics. Change is unstoppable, but we need to create good leaders for the future.”
