Important Decision on Fee Reimbursement in Telangana

A major decision about fee reimbursement for degree students was made during a meeting of university Vice-Chancellors in Telangana. They decided that students must have at least 75% attendance in their degree courses to qualify for fee reimbursement.

The meeting took place on Thursday at the Telangana State Council of Higher Education office, chaired by Chairman Balakishtha Reddy. Vice-Chancellors from seven traditional universities joined the discussion. Officials said that although the state government had earlier set 75% minimum attendance as a rule for fee reimbursement, it was not being properly followed.

This time, all Vice-Chancellors agreed to strictly enforce the attendance rule and make it mandatory for fee reimbursement eligibility. They believe this step will improve students’ academic discipline.

The meeting also decided to reduce the total number of credits needed to complete a three-year degree course. Earlier, students needed 150 credits, but now it has been lowered to 142 credits.
