Double Decker Buses Introduced to Improve Tourism in Visakhapatnam

To give a fresh experience to both city residents and tourists, double decker buses will soon start running in Visakhapatnam. Officials from the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) are preparing the plans for this.

Three double decker buses will come to the city. One bus is being bought using the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. The other two buses will be bought directly by GVMC. GVMC has already asked for bids to buy these buses.

These double decker buses will mostly run on routes that connect important tourist and spiritual places like Simhachalam, Kailasagiri, and Thotlakonda. Officials believe this will make the city more attractive for tourists.

The authorities want to start this service as soon as possible. GVMC In-Charge Commissioner Harendhra Prasad has told officials to make sure at least one bus is ready by June 10. The Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will flag off the first bus. This new service will add a new attraction to Visakhapatnam.
