TDP Marks 43rd Anniversary with Visionary Resolution at 2025 Kadapa Mahanadu
In a landmark moment commemorating its 43rd anniversary, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) adopted a comprehensive political resolution at the 2025 Mahanadu held in Kadapa on Wednesday. Introduced by Union Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and approved unanimously by party leaders, the resolution called for renewed commitment to state reconstruction and public welfare, guided by the ideals of founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and under the leadership of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
Central to the resolution was the party’s pledge to innovate its policies under the philosophy: “Society is the temple, and the people are the gods.” It also ratified six major declarations that define the party’s vision for the future.
The resolution recounted the party’s origins in upholding the self-respect of the Telugu people, noting NTR’s rapid ascent to power and pioneering of welfare schemes such as subsidized rice, permanent housing, and women's property rights. While NTR led social transformation, the resolution credited Chandrababu Naidu for advancing economic development, technology adoption, and governance reform—particularly in the wake of the 2014 bifurcation.
Highlighting the early achievements of the NDA government post-2024 elections, the resolution noted the rollout of enhanced social pensions (₹4,000), free gas cylinders for women, teacher recruitment drives, and youth employment initiatives. It also spotlighted the “Mana Mitra – WhatsApp Governance” platform for improving public access to services, and cited ₹8.5 lakh crore in investments and six lakh jobs generated in the coalition's first year.
The resolution took aim at the previous YSR Congress Party government, accusing it of reversing progress through actions like demolishing Praja Vedika, stalling Amaravati and Polavaram projects, discouraging investment, and enabling lawlessness. It condemned the alleged political vendetta against Chandrababu Naidu, including what it called his unjust 53-day imprisonment.
TDP also lauded the 3,132-km “Yuvagalam” padayatra by Nara Lokesh for engaging the public and boosting morale, and praised Nara Bhuvaneshwari’s “Nijam Gelavali” campaign for supporting party workers during Naidu’s incarceration.
Reaffirming its national outlook and regional strength, the party reiterated its historic role in coalitions like the National Front, United Front, and the NDA. The resolution condemned the recent terror attack in Kashmir, expressed solidarity with the victims’ families, and applauded the central government's actions, noting the ₹50 lakh compensation to the family of slain soldier Muralinaik from Sri Sathya Sai district.
Looking forward, TDP laid out six future-oriented declarations adopted at Mahanadu:
-
The Worker is the Leader
-
Yuvagalam
-
Social Justice – Progress for the Poor
-
Women’s Empowerment
-
Support for Farmers
-
Global Recognition for Telugu People
Calling on every cadre to work toward the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047, the resolution thanked voters for the historic 2024 mandate and promised greater roles for youth in party affairs.
