Indian Railways has introduced a major change in train ticket reservations to enhance passenger convenience. According to the new facility announced by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, from January onwards, travelers will be able to change the travel date on their booked tickets online without canceling the ticket. Until now, passengers had to cancel their tickets and book a new one if they wanted to travel on a different date.

• Change the travel date without any ticket cancellation
• No additional fees for the date change
• Convenient online process
• Seats must be available on the new date
• If the new ticket price is higher, the passenger will pay the difference

Current system:

• Passengers cannot change the travel date on confirmed tickets
• They must cancel the ticket and book a new one
• Refund amounts are reduced based on cancellation time; no refund is available after the reservation chart is prepared

This new facility is designed to make railway travel more convenient and accessible for passengers, providing flexibility and reducing hassle.
