South Central Railway Collects Record ₹1.08 Crore in Fines from Ticketless Passengers

South Central Railway has collected record fines from ticketless passengers. During a mega ticket-check drive conducted across the zone on Tuesday, a total of 16,105 cases were registered, and fines exceeding ₹1.08 crore were collected in a single day. This marks the highest amount ever collected in one day in Indian Railway history.

Breaking it down by divisions, the highest fines were in Vijayawada Division at ₹36.91 lakh, followed by Guntakal ₹28 lakh, Secunderabad ₹27.9 lakh, Guntur ₹6.46 lakh, Hyderabad ₹4.6 lakh, and Nanded Division ₹4.08 lakh. Railway staff in all divisions conducted the inspections strictly, identifying passengers traveling without tickets and taking action accordingly.

Officials stated that this mega inspection aims to raise awareness among the public about proper travel practices and warned against traveling without a valid ticket.
