Namo Bharat Train Reaches 160 km/h Speed – Do You Know Its Special Features?

Namo Bharat Train Trial Run Between Sarai Kale Khan and Modipuram Successful
The Namo Bharat train has achieved another big milestone. A successful trial run between Sarai Kale Khan and Modipuram, covering 82 kilometers, was completed in less than one hour. The train reached a maximum speed of 160 kmph, proving its efficiency and speed.

This key trial was conducted by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). The train stopped at all stations and followed the official timetable perfectly. Interestingly, Meerut Metro trains were also tested at the same time and ran smoothly alongside Namo Bharat without any issues. The success of both systems together is a major achievement.

Currently, 55 kilometers of this corridor with 11 stations are already operational for passengers. The remaining stretch – 4.5 km between Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar in Delhi, and 23 km from Meerut South to Modipuram – is under final testing and trial runs. What makes this project unique is that Meerut Metro services will share the same Namo Bharat infrastructure. The 23 km Meerut Metro stretch includes 18 km of elevated and 5 km of underground track. Officials say this progress is a strong step toward launching the full corridor soon.
