Due to a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal and the active monsoon trough, several parts of Telangana are experiencing heavy rainfall. Overflowing streams and drains have been reported in many areas due to continuous downpours.
The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has predicted that the rains will continue for the next two days. A yellow alert has been issued for Wednesday and Thursday in multiple districts including Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Nalgonda, Nagar Kurnool, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Mahabubabad, Mulugu, Suryapet, Jangaon, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Ranga Reddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medchal, Hyderabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Siddipet, Mancherial, and Mahabubnagar.
The IMD has advised citizens, farmers, and motorists to stay alert and take precautions. Since Monday, several mandals in the state have recorded 6 to 10 cm of rainfall. In Hyderabad, intense rainfall has caused waterlogging in many areas, leading to severe traffic jams and overflowing drains. Authorities are taking necessary steps to control the situation.
