Heavy Flood Inflow Continues into Srisailam Reservoir

Due to heavy rainfall in Karnataka and Maharashtra, the Krishna River is witnessing strong flood flow. As a result, large volumes of water are entering Srisailam Reservoir from Sunkesula and Jurala projects. Currently, the inflow from these projects into Srisailam is 1,27,392 cusecs, while the outflow from Srisailam stands at 1,40,009 cusecs.

Water is being released to Nagarjuna Sagar through two spillway gates, with a flow of 53,764 cusecs. Additionally, 20,000 cusecs is being released through the Pothireddypadu head regulator, 35,315 cusecs through the left canal power station, and 30,930 cusecs through the right canal power station.

The Full Reservoir Level (FRL) of Srisailam is 885 feet, and the current water level is 882.40 feet. The total water storage capacity of the reservoir is 215.80 TMC, and it currently holds 201.12 TMC.
