Pawan Kalyan’s Speech in Tamil Nadu Creates Political Buzz
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan recently spoke at a Murugan devotees’ conference in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. In his speech, he said that chanting Lord Murugan’s name can drive away any enemy and encouraged people to follow the path of dharma. He added that every religion has the right to respect its beliefs, and asked why only Hindus are criticized for doing so.
His comments were seen as indirect criticism of DMK leaders like Udhayanidhi Stalin, who earlier made controversial remarks against Sanatana Dharma. Reacting strongly, Tamil Nadu's Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, Sekar Babu, questioned Pawan’s connection to Tamil Nadu and angrily asked, “Who is he to question us?”
Sekar Babu also warned Pawan not to fall into BJP's trap and promote religious politics. He challenged Pawan to contest from any constituency in Chennai in the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections and prove his strength. He stated that the Tamil people would not accept Pawan’s comments and that the DMK government is fully committed to the development of temple administration.
