Kantara Chapter 1 to Release on October 2; Pawan Kalyan Urges Fans to Support Despite Karnataka Issues

Rishabh Shetty’s self-directed film Kantara Chapter 1 is set to hit theaters on October 2. This prequel to the blockbuster Kannada film Kantara has generated huge anticipation among Telugu audiences as well.

Amid signals that the Andhra Pradesh government may approve an increase in ticket prices for the film, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan recently commented on the issue.

Film industry representatives highlighted the challenges faced by Telugu films in Karnataka, prompting Pawan Kalyan to respond. He shared that even his own film OG faced difficulties in Karnataka, including removal of posters and banners.

“Think with Brotherhood” – Pawan Kalyan

Pawan Kalyan said, “Considering the current situation in Karnataka, local audiences should not stop supporting films from the state. We should act with goodwill and national sentiment. From the legendary Kannada actor Dr. Rajkumar to Rishabh Shetty, Telugu audiences have always appreciated Kannada films. Both state film chambers should discuss these matters. I will also bring this to the attention of the Chief Minister. Telugu films should not face hurdles in Karnataka, including Kantara Chapter 1.”

Discrimination Against Telugu Films in Karnataka?

Telugu films have faced several challenges and restrictions in Karnataka, including ticket pricing regulations. Major films like RRR, Game Changer, Harihara Veeramallu, and OG have also encountered difficulties, with some cases even reaching the High Court. Industry sources are requesting reconsideration of ticket price hikes for Kantara Chapter 1.
