Chandrababu Naidu Aims for Zero-Crime State Using Advanced Technology

Amaravati, July 7:
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to turn the state into a zero-crime zone by using the latest technologies.

During a review meeting on Real-Time Governance at the Secretariat, the CM said that Andhra Pradesh should become a model for law and order management through the smart use of technology. He instructed that areas with high crime rates be continuously monitored with CCTV cameras.

As per the Chief Minister’s Office, Naidu asked for updates to regulations so that private CCTV footage can also be used in crime investigations. He emphasized that private cameras in residential and commercial areas should help in crime prevention.

The CM also said that technology should be strictly used against individuals committing crimes under the cover of politics. He warned that those who commit crimes and shift blame to the government should be carefully tracked and action taken under the Public Safety Act.

He suggested that CCTV footage from malls, theatres, and hotels be collected during investigations for public safety. He also directed an increase in the use of drones and CCTV cameras in all critical sectors. He reviewed the development of Drone City in Orvakallu.

Naidu advised that blockchain technology be used to secure government records and data, especially in revenue departments. He directed the creation of a central data lake to integrate data from various departments.

Officials informed him that 517 services are now available through WhatsApp Governance, but Naidu insisted that all services should be more user-friendly.

To protect people in lightning-prone areas, Naidu stressed the need for early warning systems with sirens and sensors. He also asked for the quick repair of physio-meters to track groundwater levels.

He ordered that real-time data on reservoir water levels, inflows, and sea discharge be properly recorded to improve flood management.

Finally, the CM asked that INCOIS (Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services) data on sea wave activity and fishing zones be made easily available to fishermen and coastal residents.
