Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has stressed the need for increased health awareness to reduce the financial burden of medical expenses on the public. He said unnecessary C-section deliveries should be avoided and normal deliveries must be encouraged. The CM instructed officials to work with a proper plan not only to offer better healthcare services but also to help people avoid diseases through preventive measures.
During a review meeting on the Health and Medical Department held at the Secretariat, CM Chandrababu expressed concern that future medical costs could become unaffordable for many families. He emphasized that spreading awareness about health, changing food habits, and promoting the use of organic products is essential. If current unhealthy food habits continue, there is a risk of dangerous diseases like cancer. The CM urged officials to educate both farmers and the public and implement a proper action plan.
He clearly stated that every constituency should have a 100-bed hospital and that quality healthcare should be available to everyone, including tribal areas. Government hospitals should be upgraded to compete with private hospitals. He also mentioned the need to use outsourcing services where required and to speed up the construction of medical colleges. The CM instructed officials to focus on establishing deemed universities in the state. Minister Satya Kumar Yadav requested the CM to fill vacant posts in the Institute of Preventive Medicine Directorate. The CM approved the recruitment of 150 posts as a first step.
