AP Weather Update: Heavy Rains Likely for Next Three Days

The Amaravati Meteorological Centre has issued a warning that several districts in Andhra Pradesh may experience rainfall over the next three days due to the influence of surface cyclonic circulation. Conditions are favorable for the formation of a southwest monsoon resurgence over the next two to three days, influenced by weather systems over Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, and parts of Telangana.

As a result, North and South Coastal Andhra districts, Rayalaseema, and Yanam are likely to receive light to moderate rains. Some areas may also experience thunderstorms with lightning and showers.

On Monday (Oct 13), the AP Disaster Management Authority reported the possibility of light to moderate rains with thunderstorms in Alluri Sitaramaraju, Bapatla, Palnadu, Prakasam, Nandyal, Kadapa, Annamayya, and Chittoor districts. Citizens are advised to remain cautious during sudden heavy showers accompanied by lightning.

Recent rainfall data shows 35.2 mm in Gollapadu (Vizianagaram), 32.5 mm in Prattipadu (Kakinada), 32.2 mm in Regidi Amadalavalasa (Vizianagaram), and 28 mm in Krishnadevipeta (Anakapalli) over the past few days. Residents are urged to stay alert and take necessary precautions in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
