A surface circulation has formed over the Bay of Bengal, along with a trough extending from Karnataka to the Gulf of Mannar via Tamil Nadu. Due to this, several parts of the Coastal Andhra districts are likely to experience heavy rains with thunderstorms for the next four days, the Amaravati Meteorological Center warned. Light to moderate rains are also expected in other parts of the state.
On Wednesday and Thursday, heavy rains are forecast in Alluri Sitarama Raju, Eluru, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, and Palnadu districts. On Friday, districts like Eluru, NTR, Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla, and Prakasam are expected to receive intense rainfall.
In coastal regions, winds at speeds of 40 to 60 kmph are likely on Thursday. The Disaster Management Authority Director Prakhar Jain cautioned fishermen not to venture into the sea.
