Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu Announces P4 Scheme to Support 15 Lakh Poor Families
Amaravati, July 4 – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the state government will identify 15 lakh poor families and appoint one lakh mentors (guides) by August 15 under the P4 Scheme (Public Private People Partnership). This scheme is focused on reducing poverty and helping poor families improve their lives.
The P4 scheme encourages the top 10% rich people in society to adopt and support the bottom 20% poor families, to build an equal and caring society. The Swarnandhra-P4 Foundation’s first general body meeting was held at the Secretariat, chaired by the CM. Ministers, public representatives, and officials from all levels joined the meeting through video conference.
Chandrababu Naidu announced that two central committees will be formed — an Executive Committee and an Advisory Committee — to guide the P4 program. The government will also start P4 chapters at district and constituency levels. These will include ministers, officials, and local leaders. The CM also launched the official P4 logo and gave a clear strategy to implement the program across the state.
The families identified under P4 will be called "Bangaru Kutumbams" (Golden Families). Each family will be supported by a mentor, who will not just give help once, but guide them continuously. These mentors can be NRIs, industrialists, social workers, or philanthropists who are already helping the poor. They will be brought together under the P4 platform.
CM Naidu said that the goal is to remove poverty from Andhra Pradesh by 2029. He said this is not a small mission but a historic challenge. He believes that with unity and commitment, even the impossible can become possible. He compared the model to famous organizations like Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Vedanta Foundation, and GMR Foundation, where the rich give back to help the poor.
