Telangana Plans to Develop Hyderabad as Indian Cinema Capital
Hyderabad, June 10: The Telangana government has decided to develop Hyderabad as the capital of the Indian cinema industry. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who heads the Ministerial Sub-Committee for film industry development, has asked officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this goal.
In a recent meeting, Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and D. Sridhar Babu also took part. They discussed several important topics. The Deputy CM said that Hyderabad should become a top destination for filmmakers from all over India and even abroad.
To help filmmakers, the Deputy CM suggested starting a single-window system to make it easier to get shooting permissions from different departments like police, fire services, and municipalities. He also said allowing film shoots at tourist places will help grow tourism in Telangana.
The Deputy CM raised concern over high prices at cinema canteens and asked for action to control them. The committee also discussed the 50 acres of land given earlier to the Film Development Corporation. Officials were told to submit a report on its present status in the next meeting.
He also advised that the RCS Committee of Chitrapuri Colony (housing for cine workers) should be invited to future discussions. For the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards on June 14, the Deputy CM said the event should be grand and include top personalities from Telugu cinema and other Indian film industries.
