Due to potential threats targeting the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of India’s top tourist attractions, the central government is taking strong security measures. Authorities plan to install an advanced anti-drone system around the monument to prevent any aerial risks.
Syed Arib Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner of Police responsible for security, said the anti-drone system will cover the entire Taj Mahal complex with a range of 7 to 8 kilometers. Currently, it has been successfully tested to operate within 200 meters of the main dome. If any drone enters this area, the system will detect its signals and automatically jam them, disabling the drone. This technology is known as the “stop-kill” system.
He also added that police officers are being trained to operate and manage this high-tech system. A special team will be formed soon to oversee its functioning.
Security at the Taj Mahal is managed by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) along with the Uttar Pradesh Police. To strengthen security further, officials are preparing to integrate this cutting-edge drone neutralization technology at the site.
