Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu Pushes for 15 Lakh Families to Be Adopted Under P4 Mission by August 15
Amaravati, June 4: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to ensure that 15 lakh families in the state are adopted by Margadarsis (mentors) by August 15, 2025, under the Zero Poverty P4 Mission. He stressed on speeding up the registration of Margadarsis and the adoption process.
During a review meeting, he explained that the P4 model (People, Progress, Prosperity, Partnership) is a modern version of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model used after economic reforms. He also ordered restructuring of the Smart Andhra Pradesh Foundation into Swarna Andhra P4 Foundation. Naidu referred to Amaravati’s land pooling model as a successful example, where 29,000 farmers became partners in capital development. Similarly, he urged each Margadarsi to adopt a “Bangaru Kutumbam” (Golden Family) to support.
The CM said he will review the program every 10 days. He also looked at the designs for the P4 logo. Officials said organizations like Milaap, Project DEEP, Rang De, and Bhargo are ready to support this mission. So far, 70,272 families have been adopted out of the 19.15 lakh registered. Most are from BC (26,340), SC (14,024), and ST (13,115) communities.
In the Cabinet meeting, Naidu was congratulated for holding 25 paperless e-Cabinet meetings in a year. The Cabinet also approved a special remission for 17 life-convicted prisoners under new rules based on Supreme Court orders.
Another approval was given for a one-time payment of Rs. 575.75 lakh to provide RO water plants in Uddanam and tribal areas of Srikakulam, and Rs. 822.86 lakh for 15 water treatment plants in Chittoor district covering 533 villages under the NTR Sujala Pathakam.
