From July 2 to 9, PM Modi to Tour Five Countries
Prime Minister Modi to Attend BRICS Summit in Brazil
Visits Planned to Namibia, Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, and Argentina
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on another foreign tour. After completing a five-day trip to Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia in the third week of June, he will now participate in the BRICS Summit scheduled to be held in Brazil during the first week of July. As part of this visit, Modi will also travel to several key nations in the Global South to further strengthen India's ties with them. From July 2 to 9, he will tour five countries.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, during this eight-day tour, PM Modi will visit Brazil, Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina, and Namibia. His first stop will be Ghana. Modi will become the first Indian Prime Minister in three decades to visit Ghana. The visit is expected to focus on enhancing cooperation in the areas of economy, energy, and defense.
Following Ghana, PM Modi will spend two days in Trinidad and Tobago. This will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the island nation since 1999. During the visit, Modi will hold talks with Trinidad and Tobago President Christine Carla Kangaloo and Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar. He is also expected to address a joint session of the country’s Parliament.
Next, PM Modi will visit Argentina, where he will hold extensive discussions with President Javier Milei. The talks will aim to boost India-Argentina cooperation in key sectors such as defense, agriculture, mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, trade, and investment.
Following that, Modi will attend the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 5 to 8, at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
His final stop will be Namibia, where he will engage in bilateral talks with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah. Modi is also expected to address the Namibian Parliament during his visit.
