PM Modi Extends Wishes to the Nation on the Occasion of Guru Purnima

New Delhi, July 10:
On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt wishes to the people of India. The festival, celebrated with devotion across the country, is a tribute to spiritual and academic mentors who guide people from darkness to light.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi wrote:

“Best wishes to everyone on the special occasion of Guru Purnima.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also greeted citizens, emphasizing the importance of the guru-shishya (teacher-disciple) tradition in Indian culture.

“I offer my respects to all teachers. In Indian culture, gurus don’t just educate – they shape character, values, and patriotism in their disciples,” he posted on X.
“On this day, I send my best wishes to all the teachers contributing to the nation’s development,” he added.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also marked the occasion with a message on social media.

“By the blessings of the Guru, a disciple moves from ignorance to self-realization, from darkness to light,” he wrote.
“We bow with reverence to all Gurus who instill discipline, service, and truth into the lives of their disciples.”

CM Yogi also paid homage to his Gurus, Mahant Avaidyanath and Mahant Digvijaynath, at their memorial sites.

Guru Purnima, also known as Vyasa Purnima, commemorates the birth of Sage Veda Vyasa, the author of the Mahabharata and compiler of the Vedas. The day is celebrated by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Sikhs, honoring those who enlighten minds and guide lives.

Across the country, people are offering prayers in temples, performing Guru Puja, and expressing their gratitude through spiritual activities and teachings.
