AP & Telangana Weather Update: Week-long Rains Due to Low Pressure

Heavy Rains Forecast for AP & Telangana Due to Low Pressure in Chhattisgarh

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of widespread heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as a low-pressure system has formed over Chhattisgarh and surrounding regions. This system, along with a surface trough and monsoon activity, is expected to bring continuous rains for another week in both Telugu states.

In Andhra Pradesh, six districts including Alluri Sitarama Raju, Eluru, West Godavari, NTR, Guntur, and Palnadu are likely to be heavily affected. Authorities have already issued a third danger signal at six major ports as the sea is likely to remain rough. Fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into the sea.

In Telangana, northern districts such as Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, Bhupalpally, Mahabubabad, and Mulugu are expected to witness very heavy rainfall, with some areas likely receiving up to 20 cm of rain. Officials have urged the public to remain cautious as continuous rainfall may lead to flooding in low-lying areas.
