Andhra Pradesh Covid Update: Three New Cases Reported in Guntur, Officials on Alert
Covid-19 cases are once again creating concern in Andhra Pradesh. Recently, three new positive cases were reported in Guntur district, raising alarm among health authorities. The new cases include a married couple from Eluru and an elderly man from Tenali.
All three tested positive for Covid-19 after undergoing testing at the Virology Lab in Manipal Hospital, Tadepalli. Among them, the condition of the elderly man is said to be serious, and he is currently receiving treatment on a ventilator.
With these sudden new cases, local authorities in Guntur have become alert. Contact tracing has been intensified, and efforts are being made to contain the spread of the virus.
Covid Cases in Other Districts Too
Recently, Covid-19 cases have also been detected in other parts of the state. In Visakhapatnam and Nandyal districts, two women tested positive. In light of these developments, health officials are urging the public to follow Covid safety guidelines and take necessary precautions.
Nationwide Covid Situation
Across India, Covid-19 cases are also rising steadily. In the national capital Delhi, the number of active cases has crossed 100. According to the Union Health Ministry, the total number of active Covid cases across India has crossed 1,000.
So far, seven deaths have been reported due to the virus, while 354 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
States like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Delhi are witnessing a higher number of new cases.
Experts say that the most commonly detected variants in the current wave are NB.1.8.1 and LF.7. However, the World Health Organization (WHO) has clarified that these variants are not highly dangerous, and the risk of severe illness remains low.
Despite this, officials are advising people to stay vigilant, and to consult doctors immediately if they experience any symptoms.
