CA Exams Postponed Amid India-Pakistan Tensions
Rising Tensions After Pahalgam Terror Attack
The terror attack in Pahalgam shocked the entire nation, sparking anger across India. In response, the Indian Army launched Operation Sindhoor, targeting and destroying terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. In retaliation, the Pakistani Army attempted attacks on India. This has led to heightened tensions and a sensitive security situation between the two nations. As a result, CA Final Exams have been postponed for safety reasons.
ICAI Announces Postponement of CA 2025 Exams
New Delhi, May 9 – The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially postponed the CA Final, Intermediate, and Post-Qualification exams that were scheduled between May 9 and 14, 2025. Due to the current India-Pakistan tension, ICAI stated that a new exam schedule will be announced soon. The decision was taken after reviewing the current security situation in the country. ICAI has advised students to regularly check the official website www.icai.org for updates.
Original Exam Dates and Operation Sindhoor
According to the original schedule, CA exams were to be held from May 2 to May 14. CA Inter Group 1 exams were on May 3, 5, and 7, and Group 2 exams were set for May 9, 11, and 14. Final Group 1 exams were already held on May 2, 4, and 6, while Group 2 was planned for May 8, 10, and 13. Meanwhile, on May 7, Indian forces launched Operation Sindhoor targeting terror infrastructure in PoK, in response to the April 22 Pahalgam massacre. Heavy shelling occurred in Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri, killing 16 terrorists. Pakistan tried to attack key Indian military bases in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur, but India successfully countered the attempts using drones and missiles.
