Two groups head to Australia
Captain Shubman Gill leads, with Kohli and Rohit in the squad
Seniors return to action after a long break
Teams to face off in 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is
First ODI begins in Perth on October 19
Team India has departed for the much-awaited Australia tour under the leadership of Shubman Gill. The first batch, including senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, left for Australia this morning. Both senior stars return to international cricket after a long break, while Gill continues to lead the side, making this tour even more exciting.
The second batch, including other team members and support staff, will fly out tonight at 9 PM. On arrival, the players will take time to adapt to Australian conditions before starting practice sessions for the limited-overs series.
The series will feature three ODIs and five T20Is between India and Australia. The tour kicks off with the first ODI in Perth on October 19, followed by matches at Adelaide Oval on the 23rd and Sydney Cricket Ground on the 25th. The T20I series begins on October 29.
For Team India, this tour will be a true test to maintain their excellent form overseas. During their last tour of Australia in 2020–21, India lost the ODI series 1–2 but won the T20 series by the same margin. This time, under young captain Gill, the team is determined to deliver a stronger performance.
