Jubilee Hills By-Election: Polling Begins Amid Tight Security
Polling for the much-anticipated Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election began at 7 a.m. on Sunday and will continue till 6 p.m.. The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth and transparent polling across the constituency. Before the polling began, mock polling was conducted at 6:30 a.m. to check the functioning of EVMs.
To maintain law and order, Section 144 has been imposed across the constituency, and strict security arrangements have been put in place. Sensitive areas are being monitored by drones, and around 3,000 polling staff and 2,000 police personnel have been deployed. Officials have warned that strict action will be taken against anyone violating election norms.
A total of 58 candidates are contesting in this by-election, with around 4 lakh registered voters set to cast their votes at 407 polling stations. According to officials, 103 postal ballots have already been polled.
BRS leader Maganti Sunitha exercised her right to vote at the Navodaya Colony (Polling Station No. 290). Speaking on the occasion, she urged all voters of Jubilee Hills to participate actively in the democratic process and cast their votes responsibly.
