Telangana Anthem Lyricist Ande Sri Passes Away While Undergoing Treatment in Hyderabad
Renowned Telangana poet and lyricist Ande Sri (64), the creator of the Telangana State Anthem “Jaya Jayahe Telangana,” passed away while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. According to family members, Ande Sri developed serious health complications at his residence last night and was immediately shifted to the hospital, where he breathed his last.
Ande Sri played a crucial role in the Telangana statehood movement through his powerful songs and writings that inspired lakhs of people. His masterpiece “Jaya Jayahe Telangana” was later officially recognized by the Telangana Government as the State Anthem.
Remarkably, Ande Sri rose to fame as a great poet despite having no formal education, relying purely on his natural talent and passion for literature. His emotional song “Mayamaipothunnadamma Manishannavadu” became a timeless classic, earning him immense popularity across Telugu states.
