A reported disagreement over the use of the Yelahanka Palace in Bengaluru for YS Sharmila’s daughter’s wedding has drawn attention to the ongoing family property dispute involving YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his sister. According to reports, Jagan has allegedly refused permission to hold the wedding at the family residence, potentially requiring a change of venue.
The wedding is reportedly scheduled for November 25. Invitations have already been sent to political leaders and other prominent personalities, with the Yelahanka property listed as the venue. However, the reported objection has created uncertainty over whether the original arrangements will continue.
Yelahanka Palace and the Family Property Dispute
The Yelahanka Palace, which reportedly includes extensive lawns spread across around 20 acres, has been associated with the longstanding disagreement over the distribution of family assets.
YS Sharmila and her mother, YS Vijayamma, have previously raised concerns regarding the division of assets accumulated during the lifetime of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The dispute has also involved legal proceedings concerning Saraswati Power and other family properties.
According to claims circulating in political circles, Jagan is reluctant to allow the wedding at the Bengaluru residence because of concerns about potential implications for future ownership disputes. However, no established legal finding has been cited to demonstrate that hosting a wedding at the property would strengthen anyone’s ownership claim.
Vijayamma’s Intervention Reportedly Failed
Reports further claim that the issue was discussed in the presence of Vijayamma, but Jagan allegedly did not agree to the proposed arrangements. Sharmila is said to have wanted to celebrate her daughter’s wedding at a residence associated with her late father.
The reported disagreement comes as preparations are reportedly underway and wedding invitations have already been distributed. However, the claims about the discussion and Jagan’s alleged refusal have not been independently verified.
Sibling Differences Come Into Focus
The reported wedding venue dispute has renewed attention on the strained relationship between Jagan and Sharmila. Sharmila previously conducted extensive padayatras and campaigned in support of her brother during important phases of his political career.
Their relationship subsequently deteriorated amid political differences and disagreements over family assets. The latest reports have raised questions about whether these differences could affect family celebrations as well.
Will the Wedding Venue Change
With November 25 approaching, the final venue remains uncertain based on the information available. It is not yet independently confirmed whether Sharmila will move the wedding celebrations to another location.
There has also been no independently verified confirmation of Jagan’s alleged refusal or the reported intervention by Vijayamma. Official responses from Jagan’s and Sharmila’s offices would be needed to establish the circumstances and clarify whether any change in venue has been decided.
