Chandrababu Naidu Accuses YSRCP Cadres of Blocking Development

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has accused YSRCP cadres of attempting to obstruct the coalition government’s development initiatives and recruitment programmes. Speaking at a media conference at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office in Amaravati on Sunday, Naidu described YSRCP supporters as “fanatics” and alleged that their actions were affecting infrastructure projects and teacher recruitment.

Naidu claimed that some YSRCP supporters had damaged newly laid roads using tractors because they did not want to see the government’s development work progress. He criticised the alleged incidents and said road construction was an important part of the government’s infrastructure agenda.

The Chief Minister also alleged that legal cases had been filed to delay the District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment process. He said the government was working to provide teaching jobs, but the recruitment programme was facing obstacles.

Government Highlights Welfare and Development Plans

During the press conference, Naidu highlighted the coalition government’s electoral performance in the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. He said the NDA alliance secured a 94 per cent strike rate and a 57 per cent vote share.

He also outlined several welfare programmes being implemented by the government. These include social security pensions, Thalliki Vandanam, Annadata Sukhibhava, Stree Shakti and Deepam 2.0. According to Naidu, the administration is also working to attract investments in data centres, defence projects and other industries.

Infrastructure and irrigation development featured prominently in his remarks. Naidu said the government was rebuilding the Polavaram project with the involvement of international experts and aimed to complete 36 irrigation projects by 2029. He also reiterated the government’s plans to develop Amaravati into a world-class capital city.

Naidu Criticises Previous YSRCP Government

The Chief Minister criticised the previous YSRCP administration, alleging that it had damaged the Polavaram project, neglected Central government schemes and failed to release Finance Commission funds to local bodies. He also claimed that garbage had accumulated in towns and villages during the previous government’s tenure.

Naidu said the coalition government was pursuing a regional development strategy to create economic opportunities across Andhra Pradesh. The plans include establishing a global horticulture hub in Rayalaseema and promoting growth in North Andhra.

He also identified Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Amaravati as key economic regions for the state’s development.

The remarks underline the continuing political differences between the ruling coalition and the YSRCP over infrastructure, employment and governance. The allegations concerning road damage and attempts to obstruct DSC recruitment were made by Naidu during the press conference.
