The latest Monday box office report highlights the theatrical performance of several films, including Ranabaali, Jailer, Drishyam 3, Comrade Kalyan, Garividi Lakshmi and Crazy Kalyanam. The reported figures offer an overview of their worldwide and domestic collections, estimated breakeven targets and the impact of non-theatrical business on producers and distributors.
Ranabaali Box Office Performance
Ranabaali recorded a reported worldwide theatrical business of ₹59 crore, including GST, while its estimated breakeven target stands at around ₹108 crore gross. The film collected approximately ₹36 crore gross during its first weekend, representing about 33.3% recovery against the breakeven figure.
The film's future box office performance will be important in determining how much of its theatrical investment can be recovered.
Jailer Box Office Collections
Rajinikanth's Jailer has reportedly collected around ₹425 crore gross worldwide, against an estimated worldwide breakeven target of ₹600 crore.
In the Telugu states, the film's theatrical business was approximately ₹48.8 crore, including GST. It needs to collect around ₹88 crore gross to reach breakeven. The film earned approximately ₹45 crore gross across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during its opening weekend, achieving an estimated 51% recovery.
Hyderabad was reportedly the third-best-performing city for the film, behind Bengaluru and Chennai. The final financial outcome for individual distribution areas will depend on their collections and whether distributors receive commission.
Comrade Kalyan and Drishyam 3 Collections
Comrade Kalyan has reportedly collected around ₹16.5 crore gross in India by the end of its second weekend. According to the supplied figures, the film needs approximately ₹12 crore for breakeven based on the advance paid by SVC, making it a profitable venture for buyers. However, the producer is already facing a deficit, meaning the overall financial outcome may remain challenging despite additional collections.
Meanwhile, Drishyam 3 has reportedly accumulated ₹540 crore gross worldwide after its third weekend, reflecting its substantial box office performance.
Garividi Lakshmi and Crazy Kalyanam
Garividi Lakshmi was reportedly produced on a budget of around ₹6 crore. Apart from its music rights deal with T-Series, the producer reportedly released the film by taking the financial risk. It collected approximately ₹1.7 crore gross during its first weekend, with Uttarandhra emerging as the strongest-performing region and Vizag as its best-performing city.
Estimated expenses stand at around ₹50 lakh. The collections may also be adjusted against outstanding dues related to Rajasaab. The producer's next opportunity could depend partly on the OTT price the film secures.
Crazy Kalyanam, meanwhile, reportedly earned ₹7 crore through its Aha OTT deal and another ₹70 lakh from music rights. Suresh Productions facilitated the digital deal and handled the theatrical release. However, its theatrical gross reportedly reached only around ₹85 lakh, making its cinema run a disappointment. Revenue from non-theatrical rights may help the producer avoid a major loss.
Overall, the reported figures show how theatrical recovery and revenue from digital and music rights can produce different financial outcomes for films and their stakeholders.
