Vijayawada Railway Station Security Tightened – Mock Drill Conducted to Stay Alert

Vijayawada Station Security Drill:
In light of the growing tension between India and Pakistan, security measures across the country are being strengthened. In this regard, a special mock drill was conducted at Vijayawada Railway Station on Thursday night. This exercise was carried out to ensure that there are no untoward incidents at the station.

Under the supervision of GRP Inspector J.V. Ramana and RPF Assistant Security Commissioner Kota Joji, the drill was carried out with five special teams, including the Railway Police and Dog Squads. The teams thoroughly examined various areas at the station, including platforms, foot-over bridges, waiting halls, ticket counters, booking offices, and the parcel section. The teams also inspected the crowded areas outside the station, such as the flower market and diesel loco shed, for any suspicious bags or items.

Moreover, the authorities checked the functionality of all CCTV cameras placed throughout the station. The officers issued clear instructions to ensure continuous monitoring and thorough review of footage. This mock drill aimed to improve the staff’s response to emergencies while assuring passengers of their safety.
