AP Inter New Syllabus 2025: Changes in Intermediate Curriculum and Exam Pattern

AP Inter New Syllabus 2025: Key Changes in Textbooks and Exam Pattern

The Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education (BIEAP) has introduced significant changes to the syllabus and exam patterns for the 2025-26 academic year. First-year students will now follow the NCERT syllabus with newly prepared textbooks. The exam format has also been updated, including the addition of one-mark questions for better assessment. Mathematics has been reduced to a single paper of 100 marks, while Physics and Chemistry exams have been revised to 85 marks each.

Practical exams have also changed, with 15 marks each for first and second years, totaling 30 marks. Botany and Zoology have been combined into a single biology subject. Students must study five compulsory subjects, with the option to choose a sixth, non-mandatory subject, which will be included in a separate memo.

Additionally, the board has introduced a standardized teaching handbook for teachers, including lesson-based questions to ensure consistent teaching. This is the first time such a handbook has been introduced in AP intermediate education, reflecting a modernized approach.
