Actor Rajkummar Rao Responds for the First Time on ‘Ganguli’ Biopic

Actor Rajkummar Rao has revealed to the national media that he is acting in the biopic of Sourav Ganguli. Rajkummar Rao described acting in the Ganguli biopic as a huge responsibility.

The biopic is about former Team India captain Sourav Ganguli, and Rajkummar Rao will be playing the lead role, just as Ganguli had hoped. The project has been in development since 2021, and Ganguli once expressed that Rajkummar Rao would be a good fit for the role. This has made fans confident that Rajkummar Rao will be the hero.

Although there has been no official announcement yet, rumors have been circulating in Bollywood for a few days that the shooting has already started. The film is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and produced by Luv Ranjan.

This is the first time Rajkummar Rao has spoken about it. He confirmed to the national media that he is indeed acting in the film. He also shared that he feels some pressure to look like Ganguli on screen. Rajkummar Rao emphasized that acting in the Ganguli biopic is a big responsibility. He even mentioned that he learned the Bengali language from his wife to prepare for this role.

Sourav Ganguli had a distinguished cricket career spanning two decades before retiring in 2008. He later served as the president of the Bengal Cricket Association and for three years as the president of the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India).
