Over 1.4 Lakh Users Activated FASTag Annual Pass on Day 1, Recording 1.39 Lakh Transactions

NHAI’s FASTag Annual Pass Gets Massive Response: 1.4 Lakh Activations on Day 1

New Delhi, Aug 16:
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has rolled out the FASTag Annual Pass facility at about 1,150 toll plazas across National Highways and Expressways.

The new pass received an overwhelming response from users. By 7 p.m. on the first day (August 15), around 1.4 lakh users purchased and activated the annual pass, while 1.39 lakh toll transactions were recorded.

Currently, 20,000–25,000 users are active at the same time on the Rajmargyatra App, and annual pass holders are receiving SMS alerts showing zero toll fee deductions.

To ensure a smooth travel experience, NHAI has deployed officials and nodal officers at every toll plaza. A dedicated helpline (1033) has also been strengthened with over 100 new executives to resolve user queries and complaints.

The FASTag Annual Pass offers seamless and economical travel for non-commercial vehicles. With a one-time fee of ₹3,000, the pass provides one year validity or up to 200 toll plaza crossings. The pass can be activated within two hours via the Rajmargyatra App or NHAI website.

With 98% penetration and over 8 crore users, FASTag has already transformed India’s toll collection system. The introduction of the Annual Pass is expected to further enhance user convenience and make highway travel more economical and hassle-free.
