The Andhra Pradesh government is preparing to conduct another DSC teacher recruitment exam in January, with the Education Department putting in place a detailed plan to ensure a smooth process. The government has also decided to conduct the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) before the DSC, with major reforms in the eligibility rules.
From now on, TET qualifications will strictly follow the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) guidelines, as part of efforts to prevent legal hurdles that have delayed recruitments in the past. Officials said this decision aims to bring transparency and avoid court cases related to candidate eligibility and degree criteria, which often slowed down earlier DSC notifications.
Education Minister Nara Lokesh has already announced that the government plans to release the DSC notification in January. Around 2,000 teacher posts are expected to be filled under this notification — including 1,000 posts under the Special DSC, 406 leftover posts from Mega DSC-2025, and additional vacancies created by teacher retirements this year. The government will also consider student strength while finalizing post allocations.
The Education Department believes that implementing NCTE norms right from the TET stage will help ensure a legally sound, fair, and efficient teacher recruitment process across the state.
