In the wake of the recent strikes carried out by Indian Armed Forces on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) early Wednesday morning, national carriers Air India and Air India Express have announced a special travel concession for military personnel.
Acknowledging the current security situation, both airlines declared that armed forces personnel who have booked tickets under defence fares for travel up to May 31 will be eligible for full refunds on cancellations or one-time free rescheduling of their flights without any additional charges.
In an official statement posted on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Air India said:
“To support our defence forces during these crucial times, we are offering full refunds on cancellations or one-time free rescheduling of tickets (without any fee) until June 30 for bookings made under defence fares.”
Air India Express echoed the same offer via its own official handle, emphasizing the move is aimed at ensuring seamless travel arrangements for military personnel as they respond to national duty.
The airlines’ decision comes shortly after India launched precision strikes on nine terror infrastructure sites operated by Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Pakistan and PoK. The swift operation, executed using missiles and drones, was reportedly completed in just 25 minutes, destroying key terrorist facilities.
These supportive travel measures are seen as a timely and considerate response to assist military personnel who may face unexpected travel changes due to operational deployments.
