Former India Captain MS Dhoni Added to ICC Hall of Fame

MS Dhoni Inducted into ICC Hall of Fame

Dubai, June 9: Former Indian captain and legendary wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni has been given a big honour by the International Cricket Council (ICC). He has been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, which is one of the highest recognitions in world cricket. Dhoni was one of seven players honoured this year, along with stars like Matthew Hayden from Australia and Hashim Amla from South Africa.

The ICC praised Dhoni for his calm mindset, smart leadership, and major impact on shorter formats like T20 and ODIs. In his international career, Dhoni scored 17,266 runs, made 829 dismissals as a wicketkeeper, and played in 538 matches. These numbers show his talent, fitness, and long-lasting performance.

Dhoni led India to three major ICC titles: the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. He also holds many records — including most stumpings in ODIs (123), highest score by a wicketkeeper (183*), and most matches as India’s captain (200). On receiving the award, Dhoni said he was thankful and proud to join the list of cricket legends. Though he retired in 2020, he still plays in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings and continues to inspire fans around the world.
