Telusu Kada Movie Review – A Youthful Love Story with Emotions

Siddu Jonnalagadda shines in a refreshing avatar, but a slow-paced second half affects the overall impact.

After entertaining audiences with his massy DJ Tillu character, Siddu Jonnalagadda returns with a completely different and emotionally driven role in Telusu Kada. Directed by Neeraja Kona in her debut venture, the film explores love, relationships, and emotional complexities in a modern setting.

Story:

Varun (Siddu) is an orphan who has longed for family love all his life. As a chef and restaurant owner, he falls for Raga (Srinidhi Shetty), a modern woman who believes in relationships without the institution of marriage. Due to differences in opinions, they part ways. Later, Varun meets Anjali (Raashii Khanna) through a matrimonial site and marries her. Just when things seem perfect, Raga re-enters his life, bringing unexpected emotional turbulence.

Analysis:

Director Neeraja Kona crafts a story that blends modern thought with emotional intensity. The narrative’s focus on mature relationships and unconventional ideas may not connect instantly with all audiences, but it strikes a chord with those who relate to its urban sensibilities.

The film’s first half flows smoothly with light moments, while the second half delves into deeper emotional territory but moves at a slower pace. Some scenes are well-executed, showcasing the director’s creative potential. However, the screenplay could have been tighter, and certain emotional beats feel repetitive.

Performances:

Siddu Jonnalagadda delivers a composed and impactful performance as Varun. His dialogue delivery and emotional range stand out. Raashii Khanna looks elegant and suits the role of Anjali perfectly. Srinidhi Shetty convincingly portrays the independent and bold Raga. Comedian Viva Harsha surprises with a serious role, breaking his usual comic image.

Technical Aspects:

Thaman’s background score elevates the emotional moments, while the cinematography beautifully captures the mood of the film. Neeraja Kona handles her debut project with honesty and confidence, though the pacing could have been improved.

Verdict:

Telusu Kada is a modern romantic drama that appeals mainly to multiplex and urban audiences. With strong performances and fresh treatment, it’s a heartfelt attempt at exploring love beyond conventional boundaries — though not entirely flawless.
